Sons of Melancholia
Sons of Melancholia is a project of David Nizet, an electronic music producer who grew up in the South-East of Belgium where he still lives today.
From a young age, David distanced himself from the more traditional musical tastes of his peers by venturing into hip-hop, new beat, acid house, UK rave, hardcore breakbeat and the original techno of Detroit and Chicago.
David has been producing electronic music since the 90s. After having been active in the club scene as a DJ and producer under various monikers on numerous established and quality labels, he now dedicates himself almost exclusively to experimental music, exploring field recordings, ambient, drone, sound design and detailed sonic textures. His project Sons of Melancholia gives prominence to abstraction, meditative states and contemplation through hypnotic sonic landscapes.
